This course recognizes that meeting the current and future staffing needs of fire service organizations today is more difficult than ever. Nearly every community is struggling to identify qualified candidates to join their organizations as well as retain the staff they have. This course will help identify the staffing challenges that many are facing through recruiting and offer innovative ways to recruit new people. A similar discussion will take place about the retention of current staff including what threats exist to cause people to leave your organization and what actions can be taken to reduce this threat. This presentation is intended to be in a discussion format where attendees will be active participants in the course discussion.
