Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. Emotional intelligence is the path to awareness of our unconscious biases, which is elementary to successful leadership in any work environment. This is where the aspects of self-regulation, empathy and social awareness work to build an inclusive space for those around us and assist in developing/managing effective and inclusive teams. Emotional intelligence is inextricably tied to Inclusive and Level 5 leadership, leadership styles that promote diverse perspectives, welcome feedback, and consider ideas with open minds. The session will define inclusive and Level 5 leadership and will link these leadership styles to emotional intelligence.
