The Florida Fire Chiefs Association is excited to announce the Fire Rescue East 2021 Advanced Life Support (ALS) Competition to be held January 20-23, 2021, in Daytona Beach Florida. This re-engineered competition will be the “Season Opener” for all of the Florida ALS competitions. The January competition will host two preliminary days of competition that will culminate in a challenging final scenario day. There will be three (3) scenarios for teams to manage and scoring will be cumulative.

The prestigious Florida Cup is an annual award to the team that has accumulated the most points (best overall team) in the preceding year. The Florida Cup award will be presented during the 2021 Fire Rescue East Awards presentation on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The competition will begin Wednesday, January 20 in the afternoon, all day Thursday, January 21 and the finals will be held on Friday, January 22. Rules and instructions will be sent to the teams as the teams register. Registration is $200 per team and space is limited.

Please Note Current Changes to the 2021 Fire-Rescue EAST ALS Competition:
  • Safety Precautions. The ALS Competition will be taking steps to ensure the overall safety of participants and attendees including: Disinfecting each scenario pit between teams, masks are required to be worn by competitors and judges, and temperature checks will be taken each day. There will be no sequestering to limit exposure and a safety officer will be in place to assure compliance.
  • Only 15 teams will be admitted. Due to restrictions in place because of COVID-19, we are currently only admitting fifteen (15) teams to participate in this year's competition. Should restrictions lessen and/or resources increase, this limit may be increased at a later time. A waitlist is currently enabled for registration.
  • Limit one (1) team per department. If more than one (1) team is registered from the same department, the last registered teams will be cancelled, fees withheld, and the team will be placed on a waitlist. If by the deadline, the limit of fifteen (15) teams has not been met, waitlisted teams shall be registered in the order that they registered. Any waitlisted teams who are not registered by the deadline will then be refunded registration fees.
